Former Trans Mountain environmental engineer arrested blocking Kinder Morgan construction

Coast Protectors

A surprise guest quietly showed up on Burnaby Mountain yesterday and volunteered to sit down in from of Kinder Morgan’s gates. Only when she was sitting did she share why she was there. Please read more and watch the video on our blog:

Former Trans Mountain environmental engineer arrested blocking Kinder Morgan construction

This is exactly the kind of thing Prime Minister Trudeau and Kinder Morgan don’t want to go viral – so will you help us?

Watch the video and share it on your social media channels, with your family, with your neighbours, and with your work mates:  Romilly Cavanaugh, former environmental engineer on the Trans Mountain pipeline, is so worried about a spill she got arrested on Tuesday.

“We lived and worked in fear when I worked for Trans Mountain, because the reality is that no amount of equipment or people is going to change the fact that in the event of a spill, they will be able to recover very little.”

You can watch the video on our new website or share directly from our Facebook page. The other side is working overtime to flood the airwaves with nonsense, so let’s get the truth out there.

Romilly Cavanaugh knows what we’re risking Kinder Morgan’s tar sands pipeline and tanker project. So do you. If you can, sign up to volunteer at Protect the Inlet. There is lots to do to keep the camp — and the fight — going. You can help: www.ProtectTheInlet.ca/volunteer.

In some ways, this is a last stand for the climate. Thank you for all you do – let’s get the truth out there.

In solidarity and hope,

Sarah and the Coast Protectors team

PS. We are working to get keep you updated on the fight to stop Kinder Morgan and we have a favour to ask. Last week, we had difficulties with our donation system and were overwhelmed by emails asking where to donate. We can’t reply to them all individually, so please accept our apologies and try this temporary link: www.CoastProtectors.ca/donate_now

Coast Protectors is hosted by UBCIC Union of British Columbia Indian Chiefs – 312 Main St, Suite 401, Vancouver, BC V6A-2T2, Canada
